Oakland Roots Teams with Bladium Sports & Fitness Club Alameda as Official Partner
Oakland, Calif. (May 7, 2019) – Oakland Roots have teamed up with Bladium Sports & Fitness Club Alameda as an Official Partner.
Among the highlights of the partnership is an open soccer tournament and fan festival to be hosted by Bladium prior to the start of Roots’ season. Roots will also have access to Bladium as a first team practice venue, and both players and coaching staff will be integrated into the Bladium community as members.
“Bladium and Roots share a common goal of growing our community through soccer, and we are thrilled to partner with them,” said Roots President Benno Nagel. “Bladium has been a staple in the East Bay soccer scene since they opened in 1995, and I think this is a win-win for both fans and our first team, alike. We're excited to create a clubhouse atmosphere for Roots at Bladium. This will include our pro team actually operating out of the site for select practices as well as having our players and staff as Bladium members.”
"As a well-established destination for soccer in the Bay Area, Bladium Sports & Fitness is proud to partner with Oakland Roots to not only advance the game of soccer in the East Bay, but to positively impact the entire community," said Bladium Sports & Fitness Alameda General Manager Chris Tabarez.
Bladium Sports & Fitness has three indoor fields in addition to two outdoor fields. Located adjacent to what used to be Naval Air Station Alameda, the facility is already popular amongst a number of youth clubs from across the East Bay.
