The Oakland Roots Sports Club (ORSC) is seeking a Marketing Partnership Activation Executive. This person will be responsible for managing and executing marketing partnerships that will include no less than the Youth and Adult Soccer Club partnerships ensuring contractual obligations are met. In addition to these duties, this person will also be responsible for managing and executing activation requests, managing partnership content via digital and social platforms, managing marketing partnerships and sponsorship activations and fan experiences within the ORSC portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Local Marketing Partnerships ie Restaurants, Pubs & Clubs, Community Outreach Programs

  • Manage day-to-day partnership activation processes and maintenance of our Youth and Adult

  • Soccer Club partnerships to ensure contractual obligations through to Game Days including wrap up and post event reporting is essential. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Create or adapt working documents managing each active club partnership to ensure partnership optimization

  • Athlete management at Partner events i.e. camps, corporate events, community events, etc.

  • Coordinate photographer/videographer at partner events that includes ORSC signage while maintaining alignment with digital content team for LIVE social/digital postings

  • Manage all partnership asset tools and organizational documents (Spreadsheets of most up-to-date marketing collateral, signage inventory, partnership content calendars, merchandise sales, and check out iPad/Hotspot, etc.)

  • Lead weekly meetings with Marketing Manager to discuss partnership updates/metrics/forecasts/challenges

  • Work closely with ORSC Digital team to maintain inventory control & organization of partner content

  • Work closely with Ticket Sales team to incorporate discount sales of youth, adult or other club bookings and leveraging through digital, social and grassroots efforts

  • Account Servicing – Manage day-to-day maintenance and fulfillment of partnership agreements. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Attend all events that require a partnership activation to ensure optimal event management from load-in/load-out and post event reporting

  • Fulfillment of all elements in accounts including promotions, grassroots events, merchandise, broadcasts, signage, hospitality, etc.

  • Prepare internal production notes for the ORSC team that includes event details and send out to all activating partners and other pertinent stakeholders in a timely fashion

  • Preparation of partnership recap for teams, events, and venues at the end of each month, in a timely manner

  • Administration – Maintain various databases and reports as assigned by Supervisor. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Partner contact information

  • Post event reporting, tracking, analysis and maintenance of archives to assist with future projects and ensure partner satisfaction

  • Collect Certificate of Insurance and all required permits for all activating clients from ORSC operations, and ensure that coverage meets required limits, effective dates, and insureds.

  • Work with Roots Operations to ensure risk management and safety are in place to guarantee activations meet minimum standards ie Youth Groups with waivers, parental approvals, coordinate with local vendors, events to negotiate space, layout, mechanics with partners

  • Prepare internal production notes for the Activation team that includes event details and send out to all activating partners and stadium personnel in a timely fashion

Qualifications

  • A minimum education level of a Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year)

  • 2-4 years of related work experience

  • The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal & written communication skills

  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities and projects at once

  • Excellent at relationship building and people skills

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills

  • Proactive and have the ability to work independently without the need for supervision

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Ability to handle minor lifting and load/unload merchandise

  • Must be fully capable and proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

  • Ability to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs (games and events) of the company including working nights and weekends.

  • Second language Spanish a plus
